I met up with my friend S yesterday. When we were first getting to know each other, we had a conversation about how all these young Army wives get married and get pregnant right away. I made my feelings on children known (I don't want them) and she wanted to wait a while after her wedding so she could finish her master's and just be married.
Two weeks later, she was pregnant. Oops! She was so funny when she told me, because we had talked about how she didn't want to be like that. I think she may have even apologized. She was legally married, but in the Army way, hadn't had the ceremony yet. It was a month away when she found out, and she didn't tell many people until after the wedding.
Well she was due Monday. And we went to Panera and got pedicures on Tuesday. Baby A is still in there, with no signs of an impending delivery.
wow! i had no clue you didn't want kids! its great that you know exactly what you want. I have a friend who changes her mind constantly about having kids. Its a huge stress on her. I have a feeling she only considers having kids because its such an "expectation." Kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteI think we might get in trouble with the Army though! LOL It seems like everyone in has so many kids, plus people around here get started earlier than in the Bay Area. I haven't gotten my tubes tied or anything, so its not ruled out, but I just have no interest at this point, and don't see myself wanting any in the future.
